About Me

Kimberly Brammer, MA, LPC, ATR-BC®

Purpose

My goal is to help you build the resilience needed to face life’s challenges with greater confidence and flexibility. You may have tried many ways to create change and found it difficult to break free from patterns that no longer serve you. You might notice emotions that feel overwhelming or that are impacting your work, relationships, or health. Whether this is your first experience with therapy or you are returning after previous attempts, choosing to step outside your comfort zone is a meaningful first step toward a more fulfilling life.

I have worked with many individuals and couples who struggled to create lasting change and supported them in becoming more effective, intentional, and proactive in their lives. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and guided by your unique needs, with an emphasis on building a strong, trusting working relationship.

I am a culturally competent therapist and work with clients from diverse racial, ethnic, religious, sexual orientation, and gender identity backgrounds. I am also an experienced art therapist, and for clients who are interested, we can incorporate art therapy into our work together as another pathway for exploration, insight, and healing.

Experience & Education

I have over fifteen years of experience working as a therapist and art therapist. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Washington, DC, and a Registered and Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC®) through the Art Therapy Credentials Board.

I have worked across a range of mental health and substance use treatment settings, including outpatient community mental health, inpatient psychiatric care, drug and alcohol treatment centers, and private practice. This diverse experience has allowed me to support clients with complex and varied clinical needs.

I hold a Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling from The George Washington University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with a 2-D concentration and a minor in psychology and counseling.

All sessions are now being conducted in-person or virtually.
